This study explores the dual educational value of picture books as tools for bibliotherapy and theme-based learning. Picture-book bibliotherapy utilizes metaphorical narratives, symbolic imagery, and character-centered storytelling to help children externalize emotions, reveal unconscious concerns, and experience emotional release in a safe, indirect manner. Through guided questioning, identification, and imaginative projection, learners are encouraged to recognize their internal struggles and consider constructive solutions by observing how characters confront and overcome difficulties. Beyond therapeutic use, picture books offer strong pedagogical potential for concept and theme learning across subject areas. Their vivid illustrations, narrative coherence, and familiar contexts provide meaningful scaffolding for young learners who lack prior knowledge, enabling them to grasp abstract scientific or mathematical ideas through everyday situations. Picture books also support communicative language learning by supplying natural contexts for interaction, motivation, and inquiry. The study argues that picture books function as an effective bridge between emotional understanding and academic learning, demonstrating their significance as versatile educational resources.
