일반고등학교 특수교육대상학생의 고교학점제 경험에 관한 질적 사례연구

A Qualitative Case Study on the Experiences of Students with Additional Support Needs Participating in a General High School Credit System

이 연구의 목적은 질적 사례연구 방법을 활용하여 일반고등학교 환경의 특수교육대상학생들이 고교학점제를 어떻게, 그리고 왜 그렇게 경험하고 있는지를 환경과 맥락 속에서 살펴봄으로써, 그 지원 요구를 도출하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 고교학점제 연구·선도학교인 B고등학교 고교학점제에 참여한 특수교육대상학생 10명, 교사 14명, 학부모 2명과의 면담 등 다양한 연구자료를 수집하였다. 수집한 연구자료는 포괄적 분석 절차에 따라 분석하였으며, ‘이해도 기반도 부족한 상태로 마주한 고교학점제’, ‘입시 중심의 일반고에서 체감하는 고교학점제’, ‘우리의 모습에서 톺아보는 고교학점제’라는 3개의 상위범주와 9개의 하위범주, 26개의 의미단위를 구성하였다. 연구 결과를 토대로 특수교육대상학생의 원활한 고교학점제 참여를 위해서는 첫째, 특수교육대상학생의 고교학점제 이해를 돕고 참여를 촉진하기 위한 인력풀 운영, 특수교육대상학생 고교학점제 매뉴얼 제작 및 보급 등과 같은 행정적·재정적 지원이 요구되며, 둘째, 특수교육대상학생의 고교학점제 교육과정 참여와 과목 선택권이 보장되어야 하며, 셋째, 통합교육의 관점에서 고교학점제 경험을 살펴보고 지원할 필요가 있음을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the context and underlying reasons for the experiences of students with special education needs within the high school credit system in a general high school setting. Using a qualitative case study approach, this research aims to identify the specific support needs of these students. Data were collected from “B High School,” a designated pilot school for the high school credit system. Participants included 10 students with special education needs, 14 teachers, and 2 parents. Data analysis yielded three main categories, nine subcategories, and 26 meaning units. The three main categories were: (1) ‘Facing the High School Credit System with Insufficient Understanding,’ (2) ‘Experiencing the High School Credit System within an Entrance Exam-Oriented General High School,’ and (3) ‘Examining the High School Credit System through Personal Lived Experiences.’ Based on these findings, this study suggests the need for strengthened administrative and financial support, the guarantee of subject choice and active participation for students with special education needs, and the implementation of the high school credit system from an inclusive education perspective.
