그림책을 활용한 유아음악교육 연구 동향

Research Trends in Early Childhood Music Education through Picture Books

본 연구는 그림책을 활용한 유아음악교육 연구의 동향을 분석하여 향후 연구 방향을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 국내에서 발표된 석⋅박사 학위논문과 한국연구재단 등재지 및 등재후보지에 수록된 관련 논문 67편을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 그림책을 활용한 유아음악교육 연구는 1997년부터 발표되기 시작하여, 2012년 부터 2021년 사이에 집중적으로 이루어졌다. 연구 대상은 주로 만 5세 유아였으며, 연구 유형은 양적연구가 가장 많았다. 연구 내용에서는 교수방법 및 활동이 가장 활발히 다루어졌으며, 음악교육 관련 효과 변인으로는 음악적 표현력, 태도, 인지력 등이 비교적 균형 있게 다루어졌다. 발달 관련 변인으로는 언어, 정서, 사회성이 가장 높은 빈도로 나타났다. 그림책의 장르로는 환상 그림책의 활용이 가장 많았으며, 활용 방식에서는 이야기 중심 접근이, 음악활동 유형에서는 음악 영역 내 통합 활동이 가장 높은 비중을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 유아음악교육에서 그림책이 갖는 교육적 가능성을 시사하며, 향후 그림책을 활용한 유아교육 연구의 방향성을 제시하는 기초 자료로서 의의가 있다.

This study aims to analyze research trends in early childhood music education using picture books and to suggest directions for future research. A total of 67 studies—including master’s and doctoral theses and articles from journals indexed or candidate-listed by the National Research Foundation of Korea—were reviewed. The results show that studies began in 1997 and were most actively conducted between 2012 and 2021. Most focused on five-year-old children and primarily adopted quantitative methods. In terms of content, teaching strategies and instructional activities were the most frequently explored. Musical expression, attitude, and cognition were addressed with relatively balanced attention among music education variables. For developmental domains, language, emotional, and social development appeared most frequently. Fantasy picture books were the most commonly used genre, with story-centered approaches most prevalent. Integrated music-centered activities were the most frequently implemented. These findings suggest the educational potential of picture books in early childhood music education and provide a foundation for future research and practice in the field.
