『燕都紀行』에 나타난 義州路: 조선후기 ‘古地圖’들을 중심으로

A study on Uiju-ro main road in Yeondogihaeng (燕都紀行): Focusing on the Korean old map in the late of Joseon

이 연구는 麟坪大君(1622~1658) 李㴭가 淸朝에 갔던 12차 사행 중 1656년의 11번째 使行때 쓴 연행일기인 燕都紀行에 나타난 使行路程 중 서울-의주간의 대로인 義州路에 대한 연구이다. 기존의 선행연구에서 의주로는 道程 혹은 정치·군사적 기능에 집중되어 있거나, 조선시대 大路연구에서 부차적으로 의주로를 서술하는 경우가 많아 각 지역별 도로의 실체적 모습을 자세히 알 수 없다. 燕都紀行에서 나타난 사행노정과 地名·地形 등을 지역별로 세밀히 분석하고 이를 조선후기 1750년대 제작된 해동지도와 1872년 지방지도, 김정호가 제작한 지도류 등등 조선후기 제작되는 다양한 古地圖를 활용하여 燕都紀行에서 표현되고 있는 사행노정상의 지명과 지형들을 면밀하게 비교·대조해 보았다.

This study aims to examine the Uiju-ro(義州路) main road that connected the cities along the line between Seoul and Uiju(義州), through Yeondogihaeng(燕都紀行), which was written by Grand prince Inpyeong (麟坪大君), whose original name was Yo, Lee(李㴭), a diary record of his 11th itinerary from Seoul to Peking as a diplomatic mission in 1656.Previous studies about Uiju-ro road have almost exclusively focused on the itinerary of Uiju-ro road or its political and military functions. And this has been previously assessed only to a very limited extent because they have peripheral mentioned to Uiju-ro road while focusing on the main roads of Joseon. A number of questions regarding between different areas what it was originally like that.This paper first try to analysis from region to region either the itinerary of envoys to visit the Qing Dynasty, and the places names and the topographies. And then, basis on the data, the purpose of this study is to compare and analysis thoroughly with various Korean old maps in the late of the Joseon dynasty, such as Haedongjido(海東地圖), which was produced in 1750's, the country old map of 1872(郡縣地圖), the maps, which were produced by Jeong-Ho, Kim(金正浩), and beside maps.
