자폐 범주성 장애 유아 어머니의 경험 연구: 포토보이스를 중심으로

Experiences of Mothers of Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Photovoice Study

본 연구는 자폐 범주성 장애 유아를 양육하는 어머니들의 일상적 경험을 탐색하고, 그 과정에서 드러나는 지원요구를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 자폐 범주성 장애 진단을 받은 유아(만 3-5세)의 어머니 4명을 대상으로 포토보이스 방법을 활용하여 5개 주제에 대한 사진 촬영과 총 5차례의 대면 그룹토의를 진행하였다. 수집된 자료는 Braun & Clarke(2006)의 분석 절차를 활용하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과 총 4개의 상위주제(나와 자녀에 대한 인식, 자폐성 장애 유아 양육의 어려움, 행복과 회복의 자원, 지원요구)와 14개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 이를 기반으로 부모 커뮤니티 지원체계 구축, 경제적 지원 강화, 돌봄 지원 체계 강화, 의료지원 체계의 개선, 그리고 일원화된 지원 체계 구축의 필요성에 대해 논의하였다.

This study explored the experiences of mothers raising young children (3-5years) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and identified the support needs that emerged from those experiences. Four mothers participated in the study. Using the photovoice method, the participants captured photographs related to five themes and engaged in five face-to-face group discussions. Data were analyzed following Braun and Clarke’s(2006) thematic analysis procedures. Four main themes were identified: perceptions of the self and child, challenges in raising young children with ASD, happiness and source of resilience, and support needs. Based on these findings, the implications were discussed regarding the development of parent community support systems, expanding financial and caregiving support, improving medical service systems, and establishing an integrated service system for parents of children with ASD.
