This study aimed to enhance the applicability of marine therapeutic resources by developing immersive VR-based marine healing content and evaluating its system usability. Marine emotional VR healing content was produced by capturing coastal and underwater environments around Dokdo in the East Sea and Chuuk (Federated States of Micronesia) using Insta360 X4 and Titan cameras. The recorded footage was post-processed for immersive 360° experiences. A satisfaction survey (total of 174 participants; n=174) and System Usability Scale (SUS) assessment (n=42) were conducted. Results showed that 88.5% of participants reported being satisfied or very satisfied, and 97.1% expressed willingness to re-experience the content. The average SUS score was 80.17, indicating an “very good” usability level. However, qualitative feedback suggested improvements in brightness, resolution, and audio quality. These results demonstrate the potential and feasibility of VR-based marine healing content as a tool for emotional well-being. Future research will incorporate physiological indicators such as EEG and smartwatch-based stress indices to validate its therapeutic effects.
