A Study on Parents’ Experiences with Idolbom Service : Focusing on Users in Seoul

Objective: This study aims to explore parents’ experiences with Idolbom services and to pro-pose policy directions to alleviate the burden of caregiving based on these findings. Methods: Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with ten parents who are currently using Idolbom services, and their service use experiences were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis. Results: Through the analysis process, seven categories were identified Conclusions: This study explores the experiences of parents residing in Seoul who have uti-lized Idolbom services, focusing on their reasons for service use, challenges encountered, and demands for service improvement. Through a comprehensive analysis, the study seeks to provide an in-depth understanding of parents’ experiences with in-home childcare support services. Based on the findings, several policy recommendations are proposed, including the improvement of working conditions for childcare providers to expand service availability, the promotion of the Idolbom service profession, the enhancement of service support for single-parent households, and the development of complementary strategies in collaboration with private childcare services.
