Objective: The purpose of this study is to discover the understanding of the village of young chil-dren by analyzing their perception of the village through free village photography activities and to explore basic data of community education for the understanding and value of young children’s life of living together. Methods: Fourteen 5-year-old class attending J kindergarten in G city were selected as participants in the study. The study was conducted for about six weeks from January 15 to February 23, 2024. Data was collected through children’s village photos, a group interview, and researcher notes. The results were obtained by categorizing significant questions and situations alongside the photos after repeatedly reviewing the data. Results: Young children viewed the village as a place where diversity is respected, promises connect people, and the val-ue of existence is understood. These findings highlight how children discover meaning in their community and learn what it means to live together. Conclusions: It suggests the feasibility of community education connected to the lives of young children in that young children have formed an awareness of the village as a living foundation in a fun, natural, and active way.
