AI 교육에 대한 어린이집 교사의 인식 및 요구 - 경북 지역 어린이집을 중심으로

Perceptions and Needs of Childcare Teachers Regarding AI Education: Focuesd on Childcare Centers in Gyeongbuk Province

본 연구는 경북 지역 어린이집 교사를 대상으로 AI 교육에 대한 현황, 인식 및 요구를 분석하기 위해 경북 지역 보육교직원 보수교육에 참여한 어린이집 교사 252명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 기간은 2024년 8월 24일부터 10월 28일까지이며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 이용한 기술통계 분석을 통해 처리하였다. 연구 결과 전체 교사의 86.9%가 수업에서 AI를 적용한 경험이 없었으며, 94.4%는 관련 연수를 받은 적이 없었다. 교사들은 행정업무에서의 AI 활용 교육에 대한 요구가 가장 높았고, 그다음으로 AI 윤리 및 개념 이해 교육에 대한 요구가 높게 나타났다. 선호하는 연수 방식으로는 AI 도구의 실습 중심 교육과 전문가의 현장 컨설팅이 제시되었다. 교사들의 AI에 대한 인식은 기술 중심적 관점에 머물러 있었으나, AI 교육의 필요성에 대한 인식은 높게 나타났으며, 실제 적용에 대한 자신감과 자원은 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 경북 지역 보육교사들의 AI 교육에 대한 현황·인식·요구를 분석 함으로써, 향후 보육교육 현장에서 AI 교육이 정착되기 위한 필요한 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study aimed to analyze the current status, perceptions, and needs of childcare teachers in Gyeongbuk regarding AI education. A total of 252 childcare teachers who participated in the Gyeongbuk childcare staff in-service training were surveyed between August 24 and October 28, 2024. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with SPSS 22.0. The results showed that 86.9% of teachers had no experience applying AI in their classes, and 94.4% had never received any related training. Teachers expressed the highest demand for training on the use of AI in administrative tasks, followed by training on AI ethics and conceptual understanding. Preferred training methods included hands-on practice with AI tools and on-site consulting by experts. While teachers’ perceptions of AI remained technology-centered, their awareness of the necessity of AI education was high, but their confidence and resources for practical application were insufficient. By examining the current status, perceptions, and needs of childcare teachers in Gyeongbuk regarding AI education, this study is significant in that it provides foundational data for the future implementation of AI education in early childhood settings.
