교과서 수록 현대시조의 양상과 교육적 의미 - 초중고 국어·문학 교과서에 수록된 시조를 중심으로

본고의 목적은 교과서에 수록된 현대시조의 양상과 교육적 의미를 살펴보는 것이다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현대시조의 양상이다. 자연을 소재로 한 현대시조에서는 자연에 대한 교감·자연에 대한 공감을 통한 흥취, 자연의 인간화를 통한 흥취, 자연의 인간화를 통한 이치 등이 드러난다. 7차 교육과정 이후의 교과서에서는 자연에 대한 공감, 자연이 주체인 자연의 인간화 등이 부각된다. 교훈을 소재로 한 현대시조에서는 직설적 표현, 인간관계의 설정을 통한 대화적 표현, 우화적 표현으로 교훈을 전달한다. 일상 생활을 소재로 한 현대시조에서는 평화로운 고향의 모습, 일상적인 생활의 장면이 드러난다. 7차 교육과정 이후의 교과서에서는 일상적인 생활의 장면이 부각된다. 둘째, 현대시조의 교육적 의미이다. 현대시조에 나타난 흥취, 평화로움, 흥미 등은 학습독자들의 정서 순화에 도움이 된다. 학습독자들이 시적화자를 따라가다 보면 시적화자가 느끼는 흥취, 평화로움, 흥미 등을 느끼게 된다. 흥취, 평화로움, 흥미 등으로 긴장이 경감되어 정서가 순화된다. 현대시조에 나타난 자연에 대한 교감·공감, 자연의 인간화 등은 학습독자가 타인을 이해하는 태도를 함양하는 데 도움이 된다. 시적화자는 자연에 대한 교감·공감으로 타인에게 접근하고 타인의 입장이 되어보고, 자연의 인간화로 타인에게 접근하고 타인의 입장이 되어본다. 학습독자들이 시적화자를 따라가다 보면 시적화자가 타인의 입장에 접근하거나 입장이 되어 보는 경험을 하게 된다. 타인에게 접근하고 타인의 입장이 되어보는 경험으로 타인을 이해하는 태도가 향상된다. 7차 교육과정 이후 교과서에서는 흥미를 통한 정서 순화, 타인을 이해하는 태도의 향상이 강화된다. 현대시조는 인성 함양이란 점에서 교육적 의미가 있다.
