학생주도형 봉사활동을 위한 욕구 탐색 연구: 인천시 중·고등학생 및 교사 인식을 중심으로

A Study on the Needs for Student-Led Volunteer Activities: Focusing on the Perceptions of Middle and High School Students and Teachers in Incheon

본 연구는 학생주도형 봉사활동을 활성화하기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위하여 인천광역시 중·고등학생 및 교사를 대상으로 욕구조사를 실시하였으며, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들의 교내 봉사활동은 교내 및 학교 주변 환경 정화 활동이 대부분을 차지하고 있었으며, 교내 봉사활동의 불만족 이유에 대해서는 관심이나 재능과 관련이 없는 활동이기 때문이라는 응답이 가장 많았다. 둘째, 학생들의 교내･외 봉사활동 참여 방법은 학교에서 계획한 봉사활동에 자발적으로 참여한다는 응답이 가장 많았으며, 영역별로는 재능 관련 봉사 활동 참여 욕구가 높았다. 셋째, 학생들은 학생주도형 봉사활동 수행을 위해 봉사의 필요성 교육 및 체험이 가장 필요하다고 응답하였다. 넷째, 교사가 인식하는 학교 봉사활동 운영의 어려움으로는 행정지원 부족과 연구 시간 부족이 높은 응답률을 보였다. 학생 봉사활동의 바람직한 경로로는 지역 전문 자원봉사기관과 연계하여 기획된 프로그램에 단체로 참여하는 방법에 대한 욕구가 높았으며, 학생주도 봉사활동 운영을 위해 필요한 것으로는 재능, 교과, 흥미, 진로 관련 봉사활동 사례 제공과 봉사활동 필요성에 대한 교육 및 체험에 대한 응답이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 학생주도형 봉사활동 활성화를 위해 중점을 두어야 할 요소에 대해 제언하였다.

This study conducted a needs survey of middle and high school students and teachers in Incheon Metropolitan City to explore ways to promote student-led volunteer activities. Key findings are as follows. First, most students' on-campus volunteer activities involved cleaning the school and its surroundings. The most common reason for dissatisfaction with on-campus volunteer activities was that they were unrelated to their interests or talents. Second, the most common method of student participation in on- and off-campus volunteer activities was voluntary participation in school-planned activities. A high percentage of students expressed a desire to participate in volunteer activities related to their talents. Third, students indicated that volunteer education and hands-on experience were most necessary for student-led volunteer activities. Fourth, teachers frequently cited lack of administrative support and research time as challenges in implementing school volunteer activities. The most desired path for student volunteerism was group participation in programs planned in conjunction with local volunteer organizations. The most common needs for student-led volunteerism included providing examples of volunteer work related to talents, subjects, interests, and career paths, as well as education and experience on the necessity of volunteer work. Based on these findings, recommendations were made regarding key elements to promote student-led volunteerism.
