텍스트 마이닝과 의미 네트워크를 활용한 중국 북조(北朝) 여성 묘지명(墓誌銘)의 담론 양상 연구

A Study on the Discourse Patterns of Northern Dynasties Women’s Epitaphs Using Text Mining and Semantic Network Analysis

이 논문의 목적은 텍스트 마이닝과 의미 네트워크 분석을 활용하여 중국 북조(北朝) 시기 여성 묘지명 79기에 나타난 담론의 양상을 정량적으로 분석하고, 북위 통일기와 단명한 왕조가 부침한 분열기 사이의 여성 담론 변화를 규명하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 趙超(1998)의 『漢魏南北朝墓誌彙編』과 羅新·葉煒(2005)의 『新出魏晉南北朝墓誌疏證』에서 선별한 북조 여성 단독 묘지명 79기이며, 이를 북위 통일기(37기)와 분열기(42기)로 구분하여 분석하였다. 연구 방법은 Python과 Textom China를 활용한 단어 빈도 및 TF-IDF 분석, UCINET을 이용한 연결중심성(Degree Centrality) 분석과 CONCOR 군집 분석을 수행하여 시기별 담론 구조를 시각화하고 비교하였다. 연구의 결론은 북위 통일기에는 ‘夫人’을 중심으로 신분과 천성, 불교적 수양이 공존하는 이상향이 나타났으나, 분열기에는 ‘四德’이 압도적 우위를 차지하며 ‘内政’, ‘法度’와 같은 가정 경영 능력과 구체적인 유교 규범의 실천이 핵심 담론으로 재편되었음을 확인하였다. 이는 정량적 텍스트 분석을 통해 기존 개별 사례 연구에서 포착하기 어려웠던 시기별 담론 구조의 전반적 변화 양상을 실증적으로 규명한 것이다. 활용 방안은 정형화된 묘지명 텍스트 속에 숨겨진 여성에 대한 시대적 가치관의 변화를 계량적으로 포착하는 방법론을 시도함으로써, 향후 고문헌 텍스트 연구에 디지털 인문학적 접근을 확장하는 데 기여할 수 있다는 점이다. 남은 문제는 여성 단독 묘지명만을 대상으로 하여 남성 묘지명과의 비교 분석이 이루어지지 못한 점과 찬자(撰者) 및 가문 배경에 따른 미시적 담론 차이, 그리고 수당(隋唐) 시기로 이어지는 통시적 변화에 대한 후속 연구가 필요하다는 점이다.

This study analyzes the discursive patterns in 79 female epitaphs from the Northern Dynasties using text mining and semantic network analysis. The data covers the unified Northern Wei period (37 epitaphs) and the following period of division (42 epitaphs). Using Python and UCINET, the study performed frequency, TFIDF, centrality, and CONCOR analyses. Findings show that the Northern Wei period focused on social status and internal cultivation, centering on ‘Furen(夫人)’ and Buddhist faith. Conversely, the period of division prioritized the ‘Four Virtues (四德)’, with terms like ‘Neizheng (内政)’ and ‘Fadu(法度)’ highlighting women’s practical roles in the household and social order. This represents a shift in the ideal female image from inner virtue to normative practice. This research highlights the value of digital methods in tracing historical gender discourse and proposes further comparative studies with male epitaphs and later dynasties.
