유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 사회부과 완벽주의와 부모소진의 관계: 속박감의 매개효과를 중심으로

Socially Prescribed Perfectionism and Parental Burnout in Mothers of Children in Early Childhood: The Mediating Effect of Entrapment

연구목적: 본 연구는 사회부과 완벽주의와 속박감이 부모소진으로 이어지는 경로를 살피고 속박감의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 상담 장면에서 부모소진을 완화하는 상담적 개입 방향을 마련하는데 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 2024년 1월 16일부터 2024년 1월 31일까지 전국에 거주하는 3~5세 자녀를 둔 어머니 300명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 사회부과 완벽주의 척도, 속박감 척도, 부모소진 척도를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 300부의 자료는 SPSS 27.0과 SPSS PROCESS Macro 4.1을 활용해 분석하였다. 분석 절차로는 빈도분석, 신뢰도 분석, 상관분석, 매개효과 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 사회부과 완벽주의, 속박감, 부모소진 간에 유의미한 정적 상관이 나타났다. 사회부과 완벽주의와 부모소진의 관계에서 속박감은 부분 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 어머니의 사회부과 완벽주의가 부모소진에 직접 영향을 미치기도 하지만, 속박감을 매개로 하여 부모소진에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다. 연구결론: 본 연구는 사회부과 완벽주의와 부모소진 간의 관계에서 속박감의 매개효과를 실증적으로 확인하였다. 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 부모소진을 살펴보고 이를 예방하기 위한 개입의 필요성을 제기하며 부모교육 및 임상 현장에서 사회부과 완벽주의와 속박감 수준을 낮추는 개입을 위한 기초자료를 제공하였다.

Purpose:The purpose of this study is to examine the pathways through which socially prescribed perfectionism and feelings of entrapment lead to parental burnout, and to test the mediating effect of entrapment. The study also aims to provide foundational data for developing counseling interventions to alleviate parental burnout in clinical settings. Methods: A survey was conducted from January 16 to January 31, 2024, among 300 mothers residing across South Korea who were raising children aged 3 to 5 years. Data were collected using the Socially Prescribed Perfectionism Scale, the Feelings of Entrapment Scale, and the Parental Burnout Scale. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0 and the SPSS PROCESS Macro 4.1. Analysis procedures included descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and mediation analysis. Results:Significant positive correlations were found among socially prescribed perfectionism, entrapment, and parental burnout. Entrapment was found to have a partial mediating effect on the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and parental burnout. These findings suggest that mothers’ socially prescribed perfectionism not only directly affects parental burnout but also influences it indirectly through entrapment. Conclusion: This study empirically examined the mediating effect of entrapment on the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and parental burnout. It explored parental burnout among mothers of young children and highlighted the need for interventions to prevent it. The findings provide foundational data for interventions in parent education and clinical settings aimed at reducing levels of socially prescribed perfectionism and feelings of entrapment.
