Objectives: This study analyzed the differences in maximum occlusal force among adults with normal occlusion according to general characteristics, masticatory behaviors, dietary patterns, and oral health status, aiming to explore potential clinical implications. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 69 adults with normal occlusion who visited a dental hospital in Ulsan between May and September 2024. A structured questionnaire assessed demographic profiles, masticatory habits, and food preferences. Oral examinations recorded the numbers of natural teeth, prostheses, and implants. Bilateral maximum occlusal force was measured using calibrated pressure-sensitive films. Statistical analyses included t-tests and one-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05. Results: Significant differences were found in maximum occlusal force according to sex, educational attainment (right side), occupation, and the number of prostheses on the left side. Other variables showed no significant differences. Conclusions: These findings should be interpreted cautiously due to the limited sample size, localized recruitment, and methodological constraints. Maximum occlusal force may serve as a supportive indicator of oral function but should not be considered a definitive measure.
