본 연구는 한국어를 제2 언어로 배우고 있는 한국 농인과 외국인의 한국어 사용능력을 비교함으로써 한국 농인에게 한국어의 위치가 이중언어 또는 외국어의 지위를 가지는 것을 증명하고자 한다. 이 조사를 통해 한국 농인이 한국어를 습득하는 데 있어 보이는 오류 양상을 확인할 것이다. 또 농인에게 한국어가 제1 언어가 아니지만 같은 문화와 개념을 공유하는 한국인으로서 외국인 학습자와는 다른 면모가 발견이 된다면 그 특징이 무엇인지도 확인하고자 한다. 이러한 연구로 얻을 수 있는 성과나 의의는 농인의 한국어 사용능력 수준을 등급별 외국인 학습자와 견주었을 때 전반적으로 어느 정도인지를 측정할 수 있게 된다는 것이다. 그리고 농인의 한국어 사용능력 특징에 따른 언어교육 체계 전반에 제언할 수 있을 만한 기반을 마련하는 데 근거로 제시할 수 있을 것이다.
This study aims to prove that the position of Korean language has the status of bilingual or foreign language to Korean Deaf by comparing the Korean language proficiency of Korean Deaf and foreigners who are learning Korean as a second language. Through this investigation, we will confirm the pattern of errors that Korean Deaf seem to have in acquiring Korean. In addition, although Korean is not the first language for Deaf, if a different aspect from foreign learners is found as a Korean who shares the same culture and concept, I would also like to confirm its characteristics. When comparing the level of Korean language proficiency of Deaf with foreign learners by grade, it is possible to measure the overall level of deaf people's Korean proficiency. Additionally, it can be used as a basis for laying the groundwork for suggestions regarding the overall language education system based on the characteristics of deaf people's Korean language proficiency.
