초연결사회의 대학 교양교육의 변화와 학습자의 인식 분석

Analysis on Changes in University General Education and Learners' Perception in Hyper-Connected Society

4차 산업사회로 불리는 현대는 ‘초연결’이라는 키워드를 중심으로 교육을 비롯한 우리 사회 전반이 혁신의 방향으로 움직이고 있다. 대학 교육 역시도 변화하는 사회와 학습자에 발맞추어 최근 다양하게 활용되고 있는 인공지능(AI)과 가상 세계인 메타버스 플랫폼을 교육 현장에 어떻게 도입하고 적용할 것인가를 고민하고 있다. 이 글은 메타버스와 인공지능을 시범 운영한 수업의 현황 분석을 통해 장점과 단점을 파악하고, 개선할 방안을 통해 대부분의 대학이 직면한 디지털 교육 환경의 문제를 보완하여 더 나은 교육 환경을 마련할 수 있는 자료를 제공하려는 데 목표를 둔 실제적 연구이다. 이러한 목표를 위해 양적 연구의 방법으로 실제 수업에서 메타버스 플랫폼, 인공지능의 적용 경험을 분석하고, 학습자의 평가를 통해 초연결사회에 확장된 학습 공간으로서의 활용에 대한 학습자의 인식을 통계적으로 검증하였다. 그 결과 메타버스와 인공지능의 부정적인 면과 긍정적인 면을 확인할 수 있었고, 학생들의 인공지능의 활용 현황이 단과대학과 성별에 따라 달리 나타나며, 메타버스 플랫폼의 콘텐츠 및 시스템에 관한 기술적인 문제가 교수와 학생의 재운영과 재수강에 대한 부정적 의견 표출과도 관련됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 ‘메타버스는 기술적 안정성 및 접근성 강화’를, ‘인공지능 수업은 활용 가이드 라인의 제도화 필요성’이라는 앞으로의 과제를 제시하였다. 이 연구는 메타버스와 인공지능이라는 서로 다른 플랫폼을 시범 운영한 수업의 현황 분석을 통해 교육 환경 개선 방안을 마련할 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공하려는 데 있다. 이는 교육 현장에서 전공이나 과제 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 교육 방안을 모색하는 데 실질적인 기초 자료를 제공할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

The modern society which is also called the 4th industrial society, is overall moving toward the direction of innovation including education focusing on the keyword ‘hyper-connection’. To keep pace with the changing society and learners, the university education is also considering how to introduce/apply AI(Artificial Intelligence) and Metaverse Platform(Virtual World) that are variously utilized in recent years, to education field. This thesis is a practical study that aims to provide data for establishing the better education environment by analyzing the current status of pilot courses applying Metaverse and AI, understanding their pros and cons, and then complementing the problems of digital education environment most of the universities are facing through the improvement measures. By using a quantitative research method for this objective, this study analyzed the experiences of applying Metaverse Platform and AI in real courses, and also statistically verified learners' perception of utilizing the learning space expanded to hyper-connected society through learners' evaluation. As a result, this study verified both positive and negative aspects of Metaverse and AI, that the students' utilization of AI was different depending on college and gender, and that the technical problems about content/system of Metaverse Platform were related to both professors and students' negative opinions about reoperating and retaking the courses. Through this, this study suggested the future tasks such as ‘strengthening the technical stability and accessibility of Metaverse’ and ‘necessity to institutionalize the guideline to apply AI to courses'. This study aims to provide basic data for establishing the better education environment by understanding problems through the analysis on the current status of pilot courses, and also complementing the problems of digital education environment most of the universities are facing through the improvement measures. This is significant in the aspect of providing the practical basic data for seeking the customized education measures for the characteristics of major or task in education field.
