드라마 ‘소년의 시간’으로 본 청소년기 오이디푸스 콤플렉스의 재연과 아버지 역할에 대한 재조명

Revisiting the Reenactment of the Adolescent Oedipus Complex and the Role of the Father : A Study Based on the Drama ‘Adolescence

본 연구는 드라마 ‘소년의 시간’(원제목:Adolescence)의 제이미 사례를 중심으로, 청소년기 오이디푸스 콤플렉스가 어떠한 양상으로 재연되고, 아버지와의 관계 경험과 어떻게 연결되는지를 정신분석적 관점에서 탐구하였다. 연구 자료는 아버지-아들의 역동이 뚜렷하게 나타나는 주요 장면과 대사를 선정하여, 로왈드(Loewald 1979)와 브로스(Blos 1984)의 이론을 중심으로 해석학적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 제이미의 살해 행위는 아버지의 거절에서 비롯된 오이디푸스의 상처와 분노가 파괴적으로 표출된 것으로, 이는 아버지의 미해결된 오이디푸스 갈등과 연결된 것으로 나타났다. 청소년기 오이디푸스의 갈등은 개인의 문제가 아니라, 부모의 무의식적 욕망이 반영된 관계적 현상임을 확인하였다. 또한 오이디푸스 콤플렉스의 ‘쇠락’(waning)은 관계의 재구성과 책임의 수용을 통해 가능하며, 이때 아버지의 자기 성찰이 핵심적 역할을 한다. 임상 장면에서도 오이디푸스의 관계는 재연될 수 있으며, 치료자는 ‘상징적 아버지’로 기능하여 새로운 관계 경험을 제공해야 한다. 본 연구는 청소년기 오이디푸스 콤플렉스의 재연이 발달 과정의 필연적 과정임을 확인하였고, 발달적ž임상적 맥락 모두에서 아버지 역할이 필요함을 제시하였다.

This study analyzes, from a psychoanalytic perspective, how the Oedipal conflict is reenacted during adolescence and how such conflict is linked to the protagonist’s relationship with his father, focusing on the case of Jamie in the drama ‘Adolescence’. The research material consists of key scenes in which the father–son dynamics are prominently displayed, and the analysis was conducted hermeneutically, drawing mainly on the theories of Loewald (1979) and Blos (1984). The findings indicate that Jamie’s act of killing expresses wounds and anger stemming from his father’s rejection, and that this behavior reflects the influence of the father’s unresolved Oedipal conflict. The study confirms that the Oedipal conflict in adolescence is not an individual problem but a relational phenomenon shaped by the parents’ unconscious wishes. It also argues that the “waning” of the Oedipal complex is made possible through relational reorganization, with the father’s self-reflection playing a central role, and that in clinical settings the therapist must likewise function as a “symbolic father.” Through the analysis of the drama, this study reaffirms that the reenactment of the Oedipal conflict in adolescence is a developmental process and highlights the importance of the father’s role.
