부산 청년이 말하는 고립은둔 회복방안 : 지역기반 사회적 연결 체계

Recovery from Isolated and Reclusive through the Voices of Youth in Busan: A Community-Based Social-Link System

본 연구의 목적은 청년들이 말하는 고립은둔의 원인과 의미 등을 생애과업에 비추어 짚어보고 그들의 목소리를 통해 고립은둔 회복방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이러한 연구목적 달성을 위해 Erikson의 심리사회적 발달단계이론과 지역사회 관련 이론을 기초로 삼았다. 이들의 고립은둔 원인과 의미를 파악하기 위해 부산지역 고립은둔 청년 10명을 대상으로 2022년과 2023년, 2년에 걸쳐 심층면접을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 고립운둔 청년들은 취업실패, 관계에서의 상실경험, 약한 지지체계 등으로 사회로 나가려는 의지는 있었으나 지속적인 실패로 생애과업인 친밀성(intimacy)을 발달시키지 못했으며 기성세대의 시각을 그대로 내면화하여 스스로를 실패한 낙오자로 인식하였다. 청년들은 고립은둔 문제 해결방안으로 지지해 주는 사람, 사람들과 연결될 수 있는 공간, 벗어날 발판이 되는 사회적 역할, 제때 적절하게 지원되는 서비스’를 제안하였다. 이에 본 연구는 청년들이 자신들의 경험을 통해 제시한 고립은둔 회복방안을 ‘지역기반 사회적 연결 체계(Community Based Social-Link System, CBSS)’로 명명하고 사회적 지지체계인 ‘사람’, 사회적 상호작용과 교류의 장(場)인 ‘공간’, ‘사회적 역할(할일)’의 수행과 제때에 적절하게 제공되는 ‘서비스’를 전략으로 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the causes and meanings of social withdrawal as articulated by isolated and reclusive youth, and to propose a Community-Based Social-Link System (CBSS) as a pathway to recovery grounded in their voices. Drawing upon Erikson’s psychosocial developmental theory and community-related theories, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 isolated and reclusive youth in Busan over a two-year period (2022–2023). The findings reveal that these youth, despite their willingness to re-engage with society, failed to achieve the life task of intimacy due to repeated experiences of job failure, relational loss, and weak support systems. Furthermore, they internalized the perspectives of older generations and perceived themselves as failed dropouts. The young people suggested that resolving the problem of social withdrawal requires supportive relationships, spaces for social connection, socially meaningful roles that provide a foundation for re-engagement, and timely and appropriate service delivery. This study conceptualizes youth-proposed recovery strategies for social withdrawal as a Community-Based Social-Link System (CBSS), consisting of four core dimensions: supportive relationships, interactive spaces, meaningful social roles, and timely, appropriate services
