A Study on Revitalization the Local Economy through the Introduction of Tourism Wellness Care Facilities in the Southern Coastal Area

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to focus on tourism policies that require innovative vitality programs for care housing for the aging population, job creation related to the establishment of smart residential conditions, the creation of a tourism environment, and the establishment of wellness-type care facilities. Findings - First, wellness-oriented open facilities that can provide facilities are increasingly established as an area of interest. Second, the space should be considered as a community where local residents and older users coexist. Third, facilities that guarantee leisure and recreational activities are essential. Lastly, the facility that can provide jobs to local residents while operating various wellness programs is appropriate. Research implications or Originality – The introduction and operation of wellness-focused care facilities are increasingly crucial in this era of regional decline. This policy approach, aimed at reducing the costs associated with the migration of young people to the metropolitan area and introducing models that provide economic stability in local communities, are both a starting point and a solution to regional revitalization. In particular, as the market for the elderly is growing, the expansion of related industries through the linkage of services and technology are a positive sign for regional vitality
