South Korea’s modern ideological and moral education originated in 1948. In the 1990s, it launched the “Moral Education Reform Plan” and integrated ideological and moral education with civic education. Since the 21st century, South Korea has begun to focus on cultivating students’ information literacy and network security awareness. South Korea’s ideological and moral education mainly covers two aspects: traditional culture education and modern values education. Its enlightenment to China’s education can be summarized as: attaching importance to the cultivation of students’ moral qualities, emphasizing the development of students’ self-awareness and emotional management abilities, and highlighting students’ connection and interaction with society. By drawing on South Korea’s practices in ideological and moral education, China can help cultivate more talents with good moral character and a sense of social responsibility, thus making positive contributions to social development. At the same time, it can deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and promote the development of bilateral relations.
