Academic Significance and Value of Jeon Su-gang’s Gasa-jip

본고는 1962년 창성출판사에서 발행된 전수강 『가사집』 수록 작품들의 문학적 특징과 전수강 『가사집』의 자료적 가치를 분석하고, 이를 통해 1960년대 활자본 가사집의 시대성과 상업성을 고찰하였다. 전수강 『가사집』은 총 16편의 가사 작품과 2편의 생활윤리 지침서를 수록하고 있다. 본고는 전수강 『가사집』이 대구에서 널리 향유되던 작품뿐만 아니라 소수유형의 작품, 현존 유일본과 친연성을 갖는 작품들을 수록하였음을 밝혔다. 이러한 점들은 전수강 『가사집』이 전통 문화를 추억하려는 독자층의 문화적 취향을 반영하여, 유교적 가치와 통속적 재미를 동시에 제공하는 종합교양서로서 기능했음을 보여준다.

This study analyzes the literary characteristics of the works included in Jeon Su-gang’s Gasa-jip, published in 1962 by Changseong Publishing House, and evaluates the bibliographical value of the collection. Through this examination, the paper further considers the contemporaneity and commercial features of printed gasa anthologies of the 1960s. Jeon Su-gang’s Gasa-jip contains a total of sixteen gasa texts along with two guidelines on everyday ethics. This study demonstrates that the collection not only includes works widely appreciated in the Daegu region but also incorporates rare types of gasa, including pieces closely related to unique surviving editions. These features indicate that Gasa-jip functioned as a comprehensive cultural handbook that catered to readers nostalgic for traditional culture, offering both Confucian moral values and popular entertainment.
