Due to rapid aging of the rural population and expansion of agricultural mechanization, the likelihood of safety accidents among farmers is increasing. This study analyzed the characteristics of in-kind benefits and changes in safety levels through the ‘Crop-specific Safety Management Practice Demonstration Extension Project’ conducted by the Rural Development Administration and county agricultural technology centers in 2024. Analysis results showed that a significant portion of improvements applied to crop groups were mechanical equipment aimed at improving work posture, handling heavy objects, and reducing work burden, which received very positive responses from farmers due to direct linkage with labor productivity improvement. Although the project period was limited to 6-7 months, the crop-specific safety management practice demonstration project, which combined in-kind benefits with safety and health education, demonstrated statistically significant increases in safety management indicator scores. Based on these findings and existing research, providing farmers with proven improvement measures classified by crop and hazardous/risk factors, along with safety and health education, and simplifying project guidelines is expected to contribute to the effective reduction of farmers' safety accidents in the future.
