As the importance of sustainable consumption in response to climate change grows, interest in the use of wood, which is a renewable material, is expanding. Accordingly, the demand for wood products is likely to continue increasing across various sectors. This study quantified the relative importance of factors influencing wood product consumption across different sectors to derive their priorities, and used this analysis to identify the factors affecting wood product purchase decisions based on consumer characteristics and types. The research findings indicate that safety, durability, product price, and reliability are perceived as the most important factors across various sectors―including architecture, furniture, and household goods―whereas the importance of other consumption factors differs according to consumer characteristics and types.
