In contemporary society, beauty services extend beyond enhancing outward appearance to significantly influencing self-esteem and psychological well-being. Yet, the beauty industry demands high levels of emotional labor due to close client interactions, while workers are often exposed to poor working conditions, low compensation, and excessive workloads. This study investigates the impact of work environment on the self-efficacy of female beauty service workers. Self-efficacy, defined as the belief in one’s ability to successfully accomplish tasks, is closely linked to job satisfaction, organizational commitment, stress management, and directly affects service quality and professional competence. Unlike previous studies that primarily emphasized external factors such as technical skills and service quality, this research focuses on internal psychological aspects. Data were collected through a survey of hair salon employees in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do in July 2025. The results demonstrate a positive correlation between work environment and self-efficacy. These findings provide a foundation for supporting the professional growth and psychological stability of beauty service workers, while also contributing to qualitative improvement and sustainable development within the beauty industry.
