History, Theory, and Practice: Three Dimensions of Elaborating on Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, based on reviewing the changes of the past and present, observing the trends of the times, fully inheriting and continuously deepening the achievements of the Communist Party of China’s ethnic theories and policies, Xi Jinping has put forward the original and major assertion of “forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation,” which has gradually developed into a scientific and complete theoretical system. It has become the latest achievement in adapting Marxism ethnic theory to the Chinese context, keeping it up - to - date, and popularizing it, providing fundamental guidelines for strengthening and improving the Party’s work on ethnic groups in the new era. Following the context of the generation of core concepts, this paper explores the theoretical basis of Xi Jinping’s important exposition, and starts from the historical logic, theoretical logic and practical logic to systematically expound the background of the formation of the sense of community for the Chinese nation. From the “grand unification” thought in the fine traditional Chinese culture to the ethnic integration concepts and community thoughts of the classic Marxist writers, from the discussions on ethnic unity by the main leaders of the Communist Party of China to the innovation of the socialist ethnic theory with Chinese characteristics in the new era, a unique theoretical background has been formed through mutual integration and interaction.

党的十八大以来，在审古今之变、察时代之势并充分继承、不断深化中国共产党民族理论政策成果的基础上，提出了“铸牢中华民族共同体意识”这一原创性重大论断，并逐步发展成为科学完整的理论体系，成为马克思主义民族理论中国化、时代化和大众化的最新成果，为加强和改进新时代党的民族工作提供了根本遵循。本文依循核心概念生成脉络探源习近平这一重要论述理论之基，从历史逻辑、理论逻辑和实践逻辑着手破题，对中华民族共同体意识的生成背景做出系统阐发。从中华优秀传统文化“大一统”思想到马克思主义经典作家的民族融合理念和共同体思想，从中国共产党主要领导人的民族团结相关论述到新时代中国特色社会主义民族理论创新，在相互激荡交融中生成独特理论背景。
