면암 최익현 추모 노래의 이본 연구 - 면암집초 수록본과 청양 모덕사소장본을 중심으로

A Study on Variants of Memorial Songs for Choi Ikhyeon : Focusing on the Versions in Myeonamjipcho and the Modeoksa Collection in Cheongyang

본고는 충남 청양 모덕사에 소장된 최익현 추모 노래를 소개하고, 『면암집초』에 수록된 다섯 편의 노래와 비교한 연구로, 지금까지 단편적 으로만 알려졌던 최익현 추모 노래의 실상을 구체적으로 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 모덕사 소장본은 『면암집초』 수록본과 긴밀한 관련성을 지니면서도, 그동안 판독이 어렵거나 의미를 특정하기 어려웠던 구절을 해명할 수 있는 새로운 단서를 제공한다. 이를 통해 최익현 추모 노래 의 존재 양상, 표기 방식의 차이를 보다 명확하게 확인할 수 있었다.

This article introduces memorial songs dedicated to Choi Ikhyeon preserved at Modeoksa Temple in Cheongyang, Chungcheongnamdo, and compares them with five songs recorded in Myeonamjipcho. The purpose of this study is to examine in detail the actual state of Choi Ikhyeon memorial songs, which until now have been known only in a fragmentary manner. The Modeoksa versions show close connections with the songs recorded in Myeonamjipcho, while also providing new clues that help clarify passages previously difficult to decipher or interpret. Through this comparison, the study more clearly identifies patterns in the transmission of memorial songs and differences in their modes of notation, which reflect contemporary acts of commemoration following Choi Ikhyeon’s patriotic martyrdom.
