초등 예비교사의 생성형 AI를 활용한 통계적 문제해결에 관한 연구

A Study on Elementary Pre-service Teachers’ Statistical Problem Solving with Generative AI

본 연구의 목적은 초등 예비교사들이 통계적 문제해결 과정에서 생성형 AI를 어떤 목적으로 활용하고, 그 과정에서 어떠한 상호작용 양상을 보이는지 분석하는 것이다. 초등 예비교사 11명을 대상으로 통계 프로젝트를 수행하게 하고, 예비교사와 생성형 AI 간의 대화 로그와 산출물을 수집하여 반복적 비교 분석법으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 문제 설정 단계에서는 아이디어 생성, 탐구 문제 개선, 자료 수집 방법 확인, 타당성 검증이, 자료 수집 단계에서는 자료 수집 방법 제안, 설문 문항 제작과 표본 크기 설정이 주요 활용 목적으로 나타났다. 자료 분석 단계에서는 분석 도구 선택, 시각화 요청, 그래프 수정, 분석 결과 설명이, 결과 해석 단계에서는 결과 해석 및 보고서 작성, 시사점 파악, 제한 사항 논의가 중심 목적이었다. 상호작용 양상은 지시형, 협력적 개선형, 검증형, 문답형의 네 유형으로 도출되었으며, 예비교사들은 이를 복합적으로 활용하면서 통계적 사고를 확장하는 한편, 일부 상황에서는 AI의 응답을 비판 없이 수용하는 경향도 보였다. 이는 생성형 AI가 예비교사의 통계적 문제해결을 지원하는 인지적 도구이자 비계로 기능할 수 있음을 보여주며, 동시에 프롬프트 설계 역량과 비판적 AI 리터러시를 강화하는 교사 교육의 필요성을 시사한다.

This study examines for what purposes elementary pre-service teachers use generative AI during statistical problem solving and how they interact with it. Eleven pre-service teachers completed a statistics project with generative-AI support, and their dialogue logs and AI-supported products were analyzed using a constant comparative method. Results showed that pre-service teachers used AI for idea generation, question refinement, checking data collection procedures, and feasibility in the question formulation stage; for designing survey items, data collection methods, and sample sizes in the data collection stage; for choosing analytical tools, requesting and revising visualizations, and explaining outputs in the analysis stage; and for writing reports, articulating implications, and discussing limitations in the interpretation stage. Four interaction types—directive, verification, collaborative refinement, and Q&A—were identified. These findings suggest that generative AI can serve as a cognitive tool and scaffold for statistical problem solving, highlighting the need to foster pre-service teachers’ prompt-design skills and critical AI literacy.
