The purpose of this study is to examine middle school English teachers’ perceptions of the implementation of the 2022 Revised National Curriculum of English. To this end, a questionnaire was developed by extracting expected issues when implementing the new curriculum, and both a survey and interviews were conducted with middle school English teachers. A total of 228 survey responses and interviews with three middle school English teachers were analyzed. The findings reveal that the majority of middle school English teachers agreed to expect difficulties in designing instruction and assessments aligned with the new achievement standards, particularly in relation to values and attitudes, career-linked instruction to ensure continuity across school levels, fostering English communicative competence through in-depth learning, and providing creative activities. The majority of English teachers also agreed to expect difficulties in tailoring instruction and assessment to individual learners and in incorporating diverse educational technologies into assessment practices. Based on these results, the study recommends the development of guidelines and support measures to facilitate the effective implementation of the 2022 Revised National Curriculum by middle school English teachers.
