대학생의 진로탐색 경험에 대한 질적 메타분석

A Qualitative Meta-Synthesis of University Students Experiences in Career Exploration

본 연구는 대학생이 겪는 복잡한 심리적 과정으로의 진로탐색 경험을 통합하여 새로운 해석적 통찰을 도출하고자 질적 메타분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 대학생 스스로 정체성을 구성하고 의미 있는 삶의 방향성을 탐색하는 데 실천적 도움을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해, Noblit과 Hare(1988)의 질적 메타분석의 해석적 통합 전략(논증적 종합 등)을 분석 프레임워크로 채택하였다. 국내에서 실시된 대학생의 진로탐색 경험에 관한 질적 연구물 19편을 선정하여 질적 연구물을 관통하는 대학생의 진로탐색 경험 요소와 구조를 발견하였다. 대학생의 진로탐색 경험은 3개의 영역으로 도출되었다. 3개의 영역은 ‘나를 만나러 가는 길(자아 재발견)’, ‘나다움을 찾아가는 길(진로 재발견)’, ‘우리다움(삶의 가치)을 향하여’로 대학생의 진로탐색 경험 요소를 구성하여, 영역 간 상호 영향을 미치며 자아, 진로, 삶의 가치를 찾는 순환과정 속에서 경험의 의미를 재구성하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 대학생 스스로 자기 성찰과 의미 있는 삶의 방향성을 모색하도록 돕는 실천적 접근으로 전환될 필요성을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to synthesize and integrate research findings on the career exploration experiences of university students in order to derive new interpretation. This study intended to find out what changes and meanings the career exploration experiences gave them, and through this, it aimed to help university students practice by presenting directions to their careers. Based on prior qualitative meta-synthesis procedures such as Noblit & Hare(1988), among the qualitative studies published in Korea on the subject of university students’ experiences in career exploration, 19 studies to be analyzed were selected for the purpose of this study. As a result of this study, the experience of university students’ career exploration was shown three thematic syntheses. The three thematic syntheses derived as ‘the path to finding myself’, ‘the path to finding a career’, and ‘toward life’s values’. Each thematic synthesis emerged through sequential experiences of sub-themes, characterized by both macro-and micro-cycles of repeated, recursive process.
