This study evaluated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of polysaccharides extracted from wild green tea flowers (Camellia sinensis), referred to as wild tea flower polysaccharides (WTFP). In RAW 264.7 macrophages, WTFP exhibited no cytotoxicity, maintaining cell viability between 98.9% and 103.2% within the tested concentration range. WTFP showed concentration-dependent antioxidant activity, with DPPH radical scavenging increasing from 12.7% to 76.8% and metal chelating activity rising from 2.1% to 74.6% at 2.5–70 μg/mL. In LPS (0.5 μg/mL)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages, WTFP significantly suppressed inflammatory mediators and cytokines in a dose-dependent manner. At 70 μg/mL of WTFP, the inhibitory effects on NO, PGE₂, IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β production were 59.8%, 52.7%, 51.4%, 45.3%, and 40.3%, respectively, compared with the LPS-treated control. Overall, WTFP demonstrated strong antioxidant capacity without cytotoxicity and effectively attenuated inflammatory responses in activated macrophages, suggesting its potential as a natural anti-inflammatory functional material. Further studies are required to clarify its underlying molecular mechanisms.
