온라인 대화 말뭉치 분석을 활용한 문법 교육의 내용 탐색 - 요청 표현을 중심으로

Exploring Grammar Educational Content through the Analysis of an Online Text Message Corpus: Focusing on Request Expressions

목적: 본 연구는 온라인 대화에서 요청이 중심 표현과 조절 표현의 선택과 결합으로 실현된다는 관점하에 관계·위계 변인에 따른 변이를 분석하고 이를 문법 교육 내용으로 전환하고자 한다. 방법: 온라인 대화 말뭉치를 관계·위계별로 층화하여 표본을 추출하고, 요청의 중심 표현과 조절 표현을 검색하여 분석하였다. 결과: 명령문이 가장 많았으나 의문문과 청유문 등 은유적 실현도 일정한 비중으로 나타났다. 변인에 따른 차이는 중심 표현보다 조절 표현에서 더 선명했고, 위계 효과는 관계 변인에 따라 다르게 나타났으며, 요청의 조절은 여러 자원의 조합을 통해 실현되는 모습을 보였다. 이에 학습자가 맥락 조건에 따라 부담·권리·의무를 조정하며 중심·조절 표현을 재구성하도록 하는 ‘맥락 변인 기반 요청 표현 교육’의 내용 선정 및 구성 원리를 제안하고, 이를 학교/학원 관계를 중심으로 예시하였다. 결론: 온라인 대화의 요청은 고정된 표현 목록이 아니라 맥락 변인에 따른 선택과 재조정의 과정으로 이해되고 교육될 필요가 있다.

Purpose: This study aims to examine variation in requests in online conversations according to relationship and status, based on the view that requests are realized through the selection and combination of head acts and request modifiers, and to transform the findings into content for grammar education. Methods: A corpus of online conversations was stratified by relationship and status, and samples were extracted. The head acts and request modifiers were then retrieved and analyzed. Results: Imperatives were the most frequent form, but metaphorical realizations such as interrogatives and hortatives also appeared with some regularity. Differences according to contextual variables were more salient in request modifiers than in head acts, and the effect of status varied depending on relationship. In addition, request modification was realized through combinations of multiple resources. On this basis, the study proposes principles for selecting and organizing the content of context-variable-based request expression education, designed to help learners reconstruct head acts and request modifiers while adjusting burden, rights, and obligations according to contextual conditions, and illustrates these principles with examples centered on school/private academy relationships. Conclusion: Requests in online conversations should be understood and taught not as a fixed list of expressions, but as a process of selection and readjustment according to contextual variables.
