청소년의 주관적 사회경제적 지위가 우울에 미치는 영향: 미래에 대한 인식, 부모의 학업적·교육적 지원, 성장환경 안전성의 조절효과

Effects of Adolescents’ Subjective Socioeconomic Status on Depression: The Moderating Roles of Future Orientation, Parental Academic and Educational Support, and Growth Environment Safety

본 연구는 청소년의 주관적 사회경제적 지위가 우울에 미치는 영향을 검토하고, 이 관계에서 청소년의 미래에 대한 인식, 부모의 학업적·교육적 지원, 성장환경 안전성의 조절효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널 14차(2021년) 자료 중 중학교 1학년 청소년 1,190명의 주관적 사회경제적 지위, 미래에 대한 인식, 부모의 학업적·교육적 지원, 성장환경 안전성, 우울을 측정한 자료를 활용하여 조절효과 검증을 위한 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 청소년의 주관적 사회경제적 지위, 미래에 대한 인식, 성장환경 안전성은 우울과 유의한 부적 상관관계를 보였으며, 부모의 학업적·교육적 지원은 우울과 유의한 상관을 보이지 않았다. 또한 미래에 대한 인식, 부모의 학업적·교육적 지원, 성장환경 안전성은 주관적 사회경제적 지위와 우울 간의 관계를 유의미하게 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 미래에 대한 인식, 부모의 학업적·교육적 지원, 성장환경 안전성이 청소년의 주관적 사회경제적 지위가 우울로 이어지는 과정을 이해하는 데 중요한 맥락 요인임을 시사하며, 청소년의 정서적 적응을 지원하기 위한 다차원적 접근의 필요성을 제기한다.

This study examined the effect of adolescents’ subjective socioeconomic status (SSS) on depressive symptoms and investigated the moderating roles of future orientation, parental academic and educational support, and perceived growth environment safety in this relationship. Data were drawn from the 14th wave (2021) of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey and included 1,190 first-year middle school students. Measures of subjective socioeconomic status, future orientation, parental academic and educational support, growth environment safety, and depressive symptoms were analyzed using hierarchical regression analyses to test moderation effects. The results indicated that subjective socioeconomic status, future orientation, and growth environment safety had significant negative correlations with depression, whereas parental academic/educational support did not show a significant correlation with depression. In addition, future orientation, parental academic and educational support, and growth environment safety significantly moderated the relationship between subjective socioeconomic status and depressive symptoms. These findings suggest that future orientation, parental academic and educational support, and growth environment safety function as important contextual factors in understanding how adolescents’ subjective socioeconomic status is linked to depressive symptoms, highlighting the need for multidimensional approaches to support adolescents’ emotional adjustment.
