이민자 사회통합프로그램의 연구 동향과 쟁점

Research Trends and Issues in Studies on the Korea Immigration and Integration Program

본 연구는 국내 이민자의 증가와 함께 사회통합프로그램의 정책적 중요성이 확대되고 관련 연구가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다는 점에 주목하여, 사회통합프로그램의 연구 동향을 분석하고 주요 쟁점을 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법은 2008년부터 2025년 10월까지 발표된 사회통합프로그램 관련 논문 164편의 초록을 분석 대상으로 삼아 토픽모델링을 적용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회통합프로그램 연구는 2010년대 후반 이후 증가세가 뚜렷해졌으며, 정책·제도 중심 논의에서 교육과정, 교재, 평가, 학습자 경험 등 교육 실행 관련 연구로 확대되었다. 둘째, 연구 주제는 수업 운영과 교수·학습, 외국인 정책과 제도, 교재와 교육 내용 구성, 다문화 정책과 운영, 한국문화 이해와 단계별 학습으로 분류되었다. 이 가운데 한국문화 이해와 단계별 학습의 비중이 가장 높았고, 다음으로 교재와 교육 내용 구성 관련 연구가 많았다. 셋째, 사회통합프로그램 연구는 정책 운영 체계, 학습자 다양성, 접근성과 지역 격차, 평가 체계, 교재와 교육 내용, 교사와 수업 실행의 여섯 가지 쟁점을 중심으로 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 제안 및 시사점으로는 향후 연구가 정책, 운영, 수업, 성과를 함께 검토하고, 학습자 특성, 지역적 조건, 평가 체계, 교재와 교육과정, KIIP 강사 지원 체계를 종합적으로 다루는 방향으로 이루어져야 한다는 점을 들 수 있다.

This study examines research trends on the Korea Immigration and Integration Program (KIIP) and identifies its major issues in light of its growing policy importance and the increase in related studies. Topic modeling was applied to the abstracts of 164 KIIP-related studies published between 2008 and October 2025. The findings are as follows. First, KIIP research increased notably from the late 2010s onward and shifted from policy- and institution-centered discussions to studies on curriculum, textbooks, assessment, and learners’ experiences. Second, the topics were classified into five categories, with understanding Korean culture and stage-based learning accounting for the largest proportion. Third, KIIP research mainly addressed six issues: policy operation system, learner diversity, accessibility and regional disparities, assessment system, textbooks and educational content, and teachers and classroom practice. These findings suggest the need for future research to examine policy, operation, instruction, and outcomes together while addressing learner characteristics, regional conditions, curriculum, assessment, and instructor support more comprehensively.
