인디밴드 출신 기타리스트의 미디어 비오그라피 연구: Deleuze and Guattari (1980)의 리좀과 탈주선 사유를 중심으로

A Media Biography Study of a Guitarist in an Indie Band: Focusing on the Reasons for Rhyzome and Ligne de Fuite by Deleuze and Guattari

인디음악은 누군가에게 간섭받지 않는 창작을 위해 뮤지션 스스로가 선택한 음악에 대한 독립적인 태도를 뜻한다. 따라서 인디음악을 추구하는 뮤지션의 입장에서 본다면 대중의 긍정적 또는 부정적 반응보다 뮤지션 스스로의 만족이 더 중요한 면이 있다. 인디음악을 추구하는 사람들은 주로 밴드 형식이 많다. 인디밴드 음악은 과거에는 크게 주목받지 못했다. 그러다 1990년대 들어 대중문화 주류 시스템 밖에서 성공하는 인디밴드가 등장하기 시작했다. 2000년대에는 인디밴드 문화가 문화의 시대적 아이콘으로 잠시 떠오른 적도 있었다. 고집스럽게 인디음악을 추구하는 고독한 열정에 대한 대중의 호기심과 존중이 깃든 현상이다. 그러나 현재 인디밴드 음악은 상당한 퇴조 상황이다. 활동의 어려움은 주로 경제적 고충으로부터 비롯되었다. 아직도 어렵지만 묵묵히 그 길을 걷고 있는 뮤지션도 있다. 하지만 그들 중 상당수는 인디음악의 길에서 벗어난 경우도 많다. 본 연구는 과거 인디밴드에서 기타리스트로 활동했고 현재는 다른 길을 걷는 연구 참여자를 대상으로 음악과 관련된 생애사 연구를 수행하였다. 생애사 연구를 수행하는 과정에서 미디어 이용행위를 모티프로 연구를 수행하였다. 이른바 미디어 비오그라피이다. 미디어 비오그라피를 수행하는 과정에서 본 연구는 Deleuze and Guattari (1980)의 욕망과 리좀 사유를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 연구 참여자는 미디어를 통해 음악과 뮤지션을 접했고, 미디어를 통해 좋아하던 뮤지션의 길을 걷고자 하였으나 경제적 어려움으로 음악의 길을 포기하는 상황에 이르렀다. 그러나 그에게서 결코 음악에 대한 동경과 열정이 사라진 것은 아니었다. 그는 현재 가정을 책임지는 가장으로서 도저히 뿌리칠 수 없는 역할을 수행하고 있다. 그렇지만 거스를 수 없는 음악에 대한 열정으로 음악을 대하고 있다. 이전과는 또 다른 미디어로 음악에 대한 향수와 열정을 향유하고 있었다.

Indie music refers to an independent attitude toward the music chosen by the musician himself for creation that is not interrupted by someone. Therefore, For musicians pursuing indie music, the musician's own satisfaction is more important than the public's positive or negative response. Indie music mainly has a band format. Indie band music did not receive much attention before. Then, in the 1990s, successful indie bands began to appear outside the mainstream popular culture system. In the 2000s, indie band culture briefly emerged as a cultural icon. It was the public's curiosity and respect for the stubborn passion for indie music. However, indie band music is currently in a significant decline. The difficulty of activities stemmed mainly from economic hardships. Although it is still difficult, some musicians are still walking on that path silently, but quite a few have often deviated from the path of indie music. This study conducted a life history study related to music with participant who worked as a guitarist in an indie band in the past and are now walking on a different path. In the process of conducting life history research, a study was conducted with a motif on media use. It is so-called media biography. In the process of performing media biography, this study focused on the desires and rhizome thoughts of Deleuze and Guattari (1980). As a result of the analysis, the participant of the study encountered music and musicians through the media, and tried to walk the path of a favorite musician through the media, but they came to a situation where they gave up the path of music due to economic difficulties, but the longing and passion for music never disappeared. He is currently playing an irresistible role as the head of the family, but he is dealing with music with an irresistible passion for music. He was enjoying nostalgia and passion for music with a different media than before.
