Globalization strategy of Korean Publication

One of the most conspicuous features of the recent information period is that ideas of space and time are changing to an absolutely different aspect from the past analogue period. The movement of information by digital eliminated the physical space barrier that was thought to be the greatest obstacle to men and made it possible for information to reach the entire world simultaneously. Today's publication is a field that is extremely affected by this tendency. In the case of publications, the best-selling books in any country tend to be ones with global appeal and so does the sale period. Consumption of publication transfers from the level of one country to the level of world, and it tends to be without boundaries. This study focuses on what the Korean globalization plan is at the time when space/time barriers are eliminated and globalization is accelerated. The urgent thing that is necessary to fulfill the globalization strategy of Korean publications is to readjust the organization to activate a publishing business. This study admits that many globalization plans suggested by preceding researchers are important, and focuses on the fact that what is necessary is to readjust the organization. That is to say, the most important plan in case of the national parts among practicing plans in globalization strategy of Korean publication is to readjust the organization. And to fulfill this plan, we need to establish a 'Korean Publication Committee'(tentative name) and a 'World(International) Publication Interchanging Center'(tentative name). In my own judgement, to avoid the worst result, we need to make a thorough study and readjust the system, and organize it according to the objective researches. Moreover, in the private aspect, open consciousness is essential in the globalization strategy. To accomplish globalization of the publishing business, individuals need to understand the consciousness of global citizens and the cultures of other countries. What is to be emphasized is the point that the way to survive the globalization is to be a creative specialist. All the works based on originality have competitive power in any place in the world, and this is really the very shortcut of globalization. In the aspect of enterprises, I studied the activities of the Korean Publication Association and practical strategies separately, and then I examined the practical particulars of globalization and suggested directions. Among them, intensification of advertisement in the aspect of association is to be focused on. In the aspect of individual enterprises, the publishing company's turnover of management idea, surpassing the idea of nationality in the activity of publishing companies, the tactical coalition among enterprises, diverse demand and globalization, getting predominant position in the world, and intensification of advertisement for globalization are suggested as a globalization strategy. And above all, publishers have to change their idea of publication. This study emphasizes that they must recognize the idea of publication as below. In advance, publishers have to understand seven constituents: material, mode, medium, means, market, money and management, and recognize their correlation with the organic views.
