In this paper we argue that Tdef needs EPP-feature and that it has an uninterpretable [person] feature. If there is no EPP-feature in Tdef, we could predict incorrectly the grammaticality of this sentence: We believed [TP him to be honest]. In the sentence if Tdef doesn't have EPP-feature, NP him would lose the fuction as the subject of Tdef, to be. If so, the sentence could not be analysed as Exceptional Case Marking (ECM) construction, but incorrectly as Control construction. It means that in ECM construction like the sentence, NP him does not appear in the subject position of embedded clause, but in the object position of matrix clause. But of Tder has EPP-feature, this problem is solved. It is an evidence that EXPL there is moved cyclically, and accordingly it is more matched to Chomsky(1998, 1999).
