A Study on the Prenatal Education of the Urban House Wives

The purpose of this study is to investigate the prenatal education of the urban house wives. The data in this study were drawn through the questionaire collected from 294 women in Pohang city. Percentage and x²-scores were applied and the results are as follows: 1. Most of the women heard about prenatal care through family, friends, school or mass-media. 2. Most of the women recognized the necessity of prenatal care. 3. Most of the women recognized the positive influence of prenatal care to the neonate. 4. Most of the women needed their husband's support with hard work during pregnancy. 5. In their leisure, a half of the women tried to rest in bed, read books, and listen to classic music during pregnancy. 6. A half of the women took daily food during pregnancy but some of the rest tried for good diet. 7. Most of the women tried to avoid drugs as much as possible during pregnancy but preferred to take vitamine. 8. concerning the hard work, about a half of the pregnant women took care of it by themselves, and the others treated it with help. 9. Many of the women tried to avoid the travel as much as possible during pregnancy.
