This study examines the nature of addictive buying tendencies of the general urban female consumers in Korea and anlyze comparatively among three groups divided by marital and employment status. Addictive buying tendencies scale was administered to a sample of 593 female consumers in Seoul. The major statistical method used for data analysis are frequency, percentage, path analysis. The present study found that consumers should not buy something for a compensatory purpose to diminish the addictive buying tendencies. And parents should not let their children meet their demands immediately and should give their children mental or internal rewards. Some differences of determinants of additive buying tendencies among groups based on marital and employment status are found and discussed.
