The properties of textile materials for the sports wear are studied in their functional aspects. To make the sports wear as "functional clothing" not only mechanical, physical properties of fabrics but also functional design(opening, fastening system) should be considered. Moisture, and the sensation association with dampness on the skin and in clothing, is fundamental to discomfort. Moist and thermal properties of fabric is the important factor factors for the wearer's comport. Waterproof, but vapor permeable fabric is appropriate for the outdoor wear. Because those microporous material not only protect insulation but also solves the problem of heat loss resulting from the evaporation of insensible perspiration as well. To keep the inner surface dry, inner wear fabric is able to transfer the moist to environment as soon as possible. Highly hygroscopic fibers such as wool can keep the skin surface significantly drier than weakely hygroscopic fibers such as polypropylene under low humidity or low activity conditions. But under high humidity or high activity condition, the result is opposite.
