The most frequently used seatings in Danish farm houses was the bench accompanied by table. Three-legged chair and stool were suitable for household works in the uneven mud of farm. Armchair was often decorated by carving of owner's inscription and date of manufacture on the back, and seat was woven with string of rye-straw. It was easy to find armchairs with Rococo curve ornaments in the farm as well as wealthy homes. Something armchairs made by basketry technique were found in Jutland and Funen.
