Analysis on the Housing Characteristics and Plan Types of the Dallajae Traditional Farmhouse in Lungching, China

This paper is a part of "The Study of the traditional Korean Ethnic Farmhousing in Yanbian China." The purpose of this study is to investigate the housing characteristics and to study the housing plan types of the traditional farmhouse. It is based on a survey of 124 households in the farm villages of Lunhching. China. Survey research methods included a field study in Dallajae. A questionnaires was used to conduct this study. The major finding are : 1)there is no difference in the housing characteristics(the average size of farmhouse. building starting year. living period, building material, building orientation) between farm villages. 2)housing plan types are divided into 6 types and all these types are based on the Ham-Kyoung-Do double file dwelling. And without exception all the bedrooms are Korean traditional ondol rooms.
