A Study on the Habit of Korean Women's Contemplative Order - Focused on cCloistered monastery -

This study aimes at investigating the style of habit in the Korean Catholic Women's Contemplated Order and analyzing its characteristics. The research was carried out by investigating a wide range of documents including those on museums of religious society and by considering interviews on the habit The western style religious habit was introduced and settled later in Korea by the members of foreign religious society. The design of this habit might be originated from the mediaval times. The habit includes items such as tunica, scapulare, cappa, mafort, veil, cintura, rosario. The essential elements of religious life such as simplicity, chastity and poverty were referred in the habit.
