Over the last four decades, Korean women have been entering the work force in increasing numbers. In 1997, approximately 50% of all women over the age of 15 were working outside the home. Many women feel the invisible discrimination in the labor force. especially married women face many difficulties because they are responsible for household work. So, this study compares the working condition of 4 countries-Sweden. United States, Japan, and Korea. The criteria of comparison are the women's employment rate and child care, general viewpoint to women's employment, and household work time. The employment rate of Korean Women are similar with their rates in U.S.A. and Japan. And the acts and maternity benefits relating to women's employment also are similar with them. But the viewpoint to women's employment in Korea is restrictive and division rate of household work is lower than Sweden and U.S.A.
