Maturity and Spawing season of the stone flounder kareius bicaloratus in approaches to Kyongyolbiyolto of Yellow sea. was examined from seasonal changes in percentage occurrence of muture gonad index and fatness(condition factor). The materials used in this study consist of 242 specimens from October 1992 to August 1993. Gonadsomatic index(GSI) of stone flounder gradually increased from October and attained peak in January and then declined puickly after spawning season. Fatness of Stone flounder declined during spawning season and after spawning season. It seems probable that such seasonal change in gonadsomatic index and fatness are closely realation to the spawing season. Analysis showed that spawning season is from January to Feburuary. Individual fish spawn only one time during spawning season. No specimens smaller than 190 mm, body length, are found maturing in both females and males. And all of them are maturing at two years old.
