The biochemical characteristics and pathogenicity of Streptococcus sp. strain isolated from diseased cultured flounder, Paralichthys oligarches were studied. The causative organisms were identified as Streptococcus sp. by biochemical and biophysical characteristics. Also, It strain was named BF-1, and it grew at optimal 3% NaCl and pH 9.0. Total cell protein peptide bands of the Streptococcus sp.(BF-1) were between 14.0-120.0 Kd in molecular weight by the electrophoresis analysis, and a tabtable 33 band appeared. in the pathogenicity test, the flounder injected group with 1.0 x 10(8) cfu/fish was 10 out of 10 died within 72hrs, and with 1.0 x 10(7) cpu/fish 8 died within 72 hrs, but in the group with 1.0 x 10(5) cpu/fish was not died within experimental date. Drug sensitivity of BF-1 strain was sentivity to AM, C, E, GM, K, N, S, SxT, and FF, and intermidiate to CF and V.
