The Principal Character of the Incotenns

The purpose of Incotenns is to avoid or at least reduce the uncirtainties of djfferent interpretations of trade tenns in different countries. This article studied and analyzed the principal charater of the Incoterms 2000. It is clear that the Incoterms now enjoy world-wide recognition and Ice has therefore decided to consolidate upon that recOl/nition and avoid change for its own sake. So serious efforts have been made to ensure that the wording used in Incoterms 2000 clearly and accurately reflects trade practice. Besides ICC has made an efforts for the consensus with the Vienna Convention. And Incoterms ~ give no guidance whatsoever for the variants of Incoterms. Incoterms 2000 stipulated that the distribution of costs under the variants of Incoterms may differ in different places and changes from time to time. Therefore, parties are recommended to clarify in the contract of sale how such costs should be distributed between themselves
