고령화시대 노인부양부담과 여성의 경제활동

본고는 여성개발원의 「제4차 여성의 취업실태조사」자료를 토대로 여성의 연령별 노인부양부담 및 취업실태를 분석하고 있다. 본 연구는 고령사회를 대비한 여성고용정책의 필요성을 제안하기 위한 선행작업으로 수행되었다. 최근 노동시장유연화 정책에 따른 노동시장 내 여성노동력에 대한 수요증가 및 여성 고학력화경향에 따른 경제활동참가욕구의 증가추세 등을 고려하여 여성의 취업을 활성화할 수 있는 가능성을 제고하고자 특히 중장년층(45세 이상) 여성인력 활용에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 중장년 여성의 취업과 노인부양 실태를 분석함으로써 고령사회대비 여성고용정책방향을 제안하고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to develop policies for female employment in the aged society. This study analyses women's providing of elderly care and employment using data from '4th survey of female employment in Korea'. This study especially focuses on females of 45 years old and over due to increasing both labor demand and supply of highly educated and motivated women in those age levels for the aged society. Results show that females aged 45-64 years with the elderly who need care have the lowest rate of labor force participation.
