The crew on board need strong physical and spiritual strength and more necessity of exercise than those on land, but they usually find it difficult to carry out various types of exercise owing to lack of sporting equipment and facilities. Inboard exercise can be done besides the terrible ship rolling which has a great effect on physical strength exercise. The purpose of this paper is to suggest to the crew on board method and pattern of exercise for the improvement of their strength and endurance, and to enable the crew to make use of the suggested exercise. and finally to make it possible for them to improve their physical and to lead a healthy lives. For the improvement of the crew's strength and endurance, istonic and ismetric training were carried out. This paper suggests an exercise pattern with the application of the overload principle in order to strengthen physical power and endurance through the is tonic training. On the other hand, this paper also suggests an exercise pattern with and without sporting equipment so as to resist with maximum strength or to train to the best of physical ability with light overload through the isometric training. Finally, this paper tries to provide six training programs that allow complex training affer individual training. According to the given programs, the crew must carry out training more than three or four times a week and check the degree of the improvement of endurance during the period of training. The programs are also designed to let the crew know about stress of exercise through the check of the individual's changes in heartbeat rate while trainging and to intensify the function of the cardiorespiratory by increasing the hearbeat rate 60 or 70 times during the training more that of the state of rest.
