The purpose of this study was to examine the leisure competence and leisure satisfaction of recreation leader in Korean society. It may be useful for the fundamental data to understand the psychological aspects of recreation leader related to leisure participation.<BR> The subjects were male and female recreation leaders who are working in Seoul and Kyunggido now. By using Convenience sampling method, a total 400 questionnaires were set out and finally 305 questionnaires were used in this study. For the data analysis, SPSS 8.0 Package was used and Frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, chi-square, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression were effectively used specially. The following were results of the study.<BR> 1. In social demographic difference, there were significant differences in leisure competence(physical, social and cognitive). Specially, depending on the differences of academic background, college major and monthly salary, leisure competence was differently suggested.<BR> 2. In sex difference, there were significance differences in leisure satisfaction(psychological, educational, social, recuperative, physiological, environmental satisfaction). According to sex, female had a high rate on social and recuperative satisfaction rather than male. According to career, the leaders who have been working from 5 yrs to 10 yrs had a high rate than the leaders, working over 10 yrs.<BR> 3. In the relationship between leisure satisfaction and leisure competence, the physical competence was closely related to psychological, educational, recuperative, and physiological satisfaction. Social competence was related to psychological, educational, recuperative and physiological satisfaction. Cognitive competence was interacted to social and environmental satisfaction.
