This was to explore the rclationship between work, of five days a week that is considered as a significant social change in modern Korean society and sport system. By understanding this relationship, I would suggest two points; 1) reducing work time of urban residents plays a great role in developing Korean sport system either professional sport, or participating sport; and 2) developing sport should be satisfied with more prepared effort by the governmental organizations and the urban residents. Korean sporting system will be changed by reducing work time and increasing leisure time in the realm of spectator`s sport, sport sponsorship, sport star, media, advertising and on. The developing direction is determined according to the consciousness of Korean urban residents toward sport system.
